#BEHOLDER
possible its an eye of the beholder thing?
I was raised catholic and just re watched midnight mass, so the contrast in how true the catholicism beats felt was top of mind the whole time.
Also generally I don’t like whodunits, just that the last two were exceptions and so far this ain’t.

I have to say, Sara from The Christmas Murder Game gives Iris from Shadowbeast @michellefranklin.bsky.social and that insufferable mother from In the Eye of the Beholder @beverlyannemichel.bsky.social a run for their money.

Want to write TRULY insufferable characters?

Isobel is the beholder of the braincell between them

Aylin is just happy to be there with Isobel

2 are more commercial, and 2 are not as. I guess it’s all going to be in the eye of the beholder…or a coin flip…

I realize this is deeply disappointing. We grew up associating language with cognition and intent. We yearn to ascribe intent to synthetic text. How can it feel convincing when meaning is all in the eye of the beholder? Weizenbaum wondered the same thing in 1966.

A thing to remember about online interaction: tone is (typically) in the eye of the beholder. So if it’s not mentioned, and you suddenly offer it, it ends up colouring the interaction.

I do also think that adult autistic folk are still very, very capable of knowing when they’re being weird vs not.

A few pics from the ‘Christmas Fey’ one shot that I did with the kids and a friends family - festive silliness and with actual gingerbread and candy cane as rewards.

'Terrorist'- another word shifting in its meaning. Intifada has become subject to semantic polarisation.
It has a textbook meaning & political/social meaning, a vast grey area and different life experiences associated with it. Can we agree meaning is in the eye or associations of the beholder? 🐿️

A remarkable read on the story of great engineering, “beauty in the eyes of the beholder” a case for historic preservation, and the cultural snobbery of the national trust. Let’s save the “Ratcliff Towers” for all the right reasons.

When Iran does it it's "state-sponsored terrorism". When the US does it it's "fighting for freedom". Terrorism is, has always been, in the eye of the beholder.
