#AshDieback is now evident wherever you go in the UK. As more and more trees succumb to this disease their dead and dying branches make stark silhouettes against the autumn sky.

IPSN joined #EABRACE workshop in Krakow 🇵🇱, sharing our work with Eastern European botanic gardens monitoring & trapping #EmeraldAshBorer and #AshDieback in Fraxinus collections

Inspiring talks from NPPOs, researchers & institutions, great collaboration for forest protection!🌳💚

A bit of joy on Friday, among the many felled ash trees across England is this one outside my house. But it's still alive! And producing new healthy shoots.

Our paper on the impacts of ash dieback on soil carbon is finally out! 🎉
#soilscience #ashdieback #woodlands

In this, we looked at the changes in soil organic carbon content of ~100 woodlands across GB over the past fifty years.

NEW: Ash dieback and other tree diseases are resulting in significantly more greenhouse gas emissions than previously thought because a large amount of carbon is escaping from woodland soils, a study has found.

A few of the interesting trees we saw this week while collecting data for our NERC funded project on the evolutionary response to ash dieback disease 🌳🌿 I never fail to be amazed at all the weird ways trees grow 😀 #Fraxinus #ashtree #ashdieback

Why try to help nature when natural selection for resistance to #AshDieback is already working well?
BIG NEWS! We’ve found that ash trees are fighting back against ash dieback disease! 🌳💪

Scientists at Kew & QMUL ‪@qmul.bsky.social have discovered that young ash trees are evolving resistance to this devastating fungus - & fast 🌍

Good news for Ash trees - and something we've been hearing from Ciaran Duggan in Knockirr Carbury Bog Community Group who made this case from his own experience in his trees - #trees #ash #ashdieback #ireland #Spéirghom

- The analysis is also a scientific breakthrough as the first convincing proof of a prediction made by Charles Darwin
