With the Österreichring rebuilt, shortened & renamed the A1-Ring, Jacques Villeneuve (Williams-Renault) won the Austrian Grand Prix from David Coulthard (McLaren-Mercedes) & Heinz-Harald Frentzen in the other Williams.

I was excited about this column as I was there. Today I am in a reflective mood.
In 2023 I almost got to the GP but it fell through.
I’m actually glad now. Best to remember Zandvoort as it was just as I don’t think I’d enjoy the Red Bull Ring after the Osterreichring.
