Iran announces a framework agreement with the U.S. for a nuclear deal

United States and Iran have begun "the path to an agreement," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said after the second indirect meeting with Donald Trump's envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. As in Muscat two weeks ago, the Iranian foreign minister was the first to react after a two-hour meeting held at the Oman's embassy in Geneva, where an understanding on the main principles of a possible pact was reached after "very serious discussions." US sources told Axios, well connected to the White House, that "progress has been made in the talks, but many details remain to be discussed." The Iranians said they "will return in the next two weeks with detailed proposals to close part of the gaps that still persist between our positions." For those who saw the glass as half full, Araghchi reiterated that both sides maintain positions that "will require time to approach." Once again

- No word yet from US. Both sides using mix of pressure tactics
