Congress deadlocks; DHS partially shuts
14h
The Department of Homeland Security partially shut down in the United States on Saturday after Congress failed to agree on funding and restrictions for ICE following controversial immigration raids.
But the non-negotiable should be congressional oversight of ICE detention facilities. Full access, no appointments, no permission slips.
No compromise.

GOP lawmakers refused to negotiate reforms to stop ICE from killing people in broad daylight, locking up kids, & making our communities less safe.
Lawmakers should not fund the agency until ICE is reined in.
