The UN Security Council met in New York to discuss Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, which drew sharp criticism from predominantly Muslim states as a breach of Somalia’s sovereignty.

This by former Turkish PM indicates extent to which Turkey sees the Israeli recognition of Somaliland as a threat to Turkish interests and to other Muslim-majority states, especially Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Egypt has expressed alarm with some pointing finger at UAE for role.

Speaking with the pro-government Channel 14, Lt.-Col. Amit Yagur explains that Israel’s recognition of Somaliland is part of Washington’s Project Sunrise to transfer Gazans.
Yagur is retired, has no official capacity, but had served as the deputy head of the Palestinian arena in the Israeli Army.
