I suspect many Linux stalwarts who trash Ubuntu do owing to Canonical. Mir, Snap, Bazaar, Upstart… these are all not-invented-here syndrome that saps resources from wider community solutions for the same problems.

It’s not snobbery to recommend a community-focused alternative that also Just Works.

Ironic how the TV show made Eros *less* gruesome than the book, but I’m glad of that: I wouldn’t want to see that!

I think the books are awesome, and the show a great adaptation.
