Checked today. Not open yet. However, I did talk to someone familiar with the construction who said the reason the bike lane isn’t open is because the signals haven’t been OKed by the city.

Also said ATLDOT jumped the gun announcing the project as substantially complete (and they knew it wasn’t!)

Last I checked it wasn’t, but I can confirm tomorrow when I bike past.

“Substantial Completion” date still says 12/9 on midtown’s website. Seems like the travel lanes have been 100% open for a few weeks, but the bike lane has remained closed as they’re filling the planters and installing the trees.

Coffee feels like an easy win but also some of the bakery treats would be great and easy - muffins, danishes, etc.

Snowed in Piedmont Park as I biked through around 4:45!

Was out for about 45 minutes. We heard a huge pop when it went out, then it seemed to try to reboot itself, causing another pop every time it tried and failed. Probably 4-5 failed reboots before giving up until it came back on for good a little after 10:30

If you’re in Fulton you can get NYT access for free through the library. On their website (after logging in) you can grab a code that’ll give you 48 hours of access and I believe it includes some NYT Cooking stuff, although I pay for it separately so not 100% sure.

Like its not a coincidence that the area that has a big NIMBY fight about more transit on the beltline elected @kelseabondatl.bsky.social overwhelmingly. We are being gas lit by a minority and by business to try to kill beltline rail. We want this kind of infrastructure. Its good for Atlantans.

The turn from the 14th Street bike lane onto Juniper is very poorly implemented. The left turn bike box is in the travel lane making it so there’s no good place to wait (except maybe the adjacent hotel driveway?) to get from 14th WB to Juniper. It was designed well, just built/executed terribly

Judges:

Baker had a complaint against her but I think it was mostly small things that were more she-didn’t-know-better at the very beginning of her term. Something to note, but I’m still voting yes.

Gundy has BAD complaints and was almost removed from the bench by SCOGA. I’ll be voting no.
