Made a correction, based on this depiction of a Huastec based on Codex Fejervary-Mayer, which apparently depicts Tezcatlipoca and could very well be the Tohuenyo himself. I do feel the new bodypaint does balance out the overall illustration and compliments the Toltec princess's colorful headdress.

Yánel and Tzunún are Téenek (Huastec) nobles from Xiuhcoac located in present-day North Veracruz. Currently, Yánel is a concubine, and Tzunún is a bodyguard of Xochimazatl.

Maya glyphs contain some interesting imagery I wanted to share. Maya writing is made up two kinds of glyphs: logographic (which can represent a whole word or morpheme) and syllabic (glyphs representing syllables). This glyph represents a pair of breasts (that may be syllabic “chu” glyph).

The #kajutajuq is a #monster from #Inuit #mythology, a head with no body and no arms, just feet. In place of cheeks, she bares breasts and her chin is a vulva. She lingers in the igloos abandoned by migrating camps, surprising people who are looking for a place to stay.
