Yes they did get *very* mucky in service. What surprised me about your pics is that it doesn't seem to have the deicing boots on the leading edges - are they painted, or just removed as unnecessary in a warm climate for easier maintenance? I guess they don't take it up to 20,000ft any more 😁

I'll stop with the old Hasegawa B-17G as I've reached the tipping point where anything else is likely to make it worse. Maybe a little too tan for my liking, but a fun kit to build. Wrong rear turret, likely didn't have the red flashes, but it looks decent to civilians 😜
