Just calling out a family member on Facebook for being racist. How's your Wednesday going? 😑

I was sending a birthday greeting to a long out-of-touch friend from elementary school on Facebook, and discovered that he had died three years ago.
I then deleted the birthday posts that I had unnoticingly sent the past two years.

...ow.

HVAC guy is talking to my housemate (a woman) about the maintenance work he's done. I walk by to listen, and immediately he starts addressing me (a man), completely turning his back on HM. After a moment or two, I step past him and stand by her, so he has to speak toward both of us. #LatentMisogyny

The term "Antifa" means "Anti-Fascist".
If you call yourself "anti-Antifa", guess what that makes you?

Oh, nothing big, just learning that -- because of a planned change to how the company handles PTO accruals -- I may now be unable to take off for the February vacation that @jacksvalentine.bsky.social have been planning for *years*. So, y'know, a bit put out about that.
What's new with you?

I've come to the realization that I'm rather terrible with the "social" part of social media.

Yes, I know this comes as a huge surprise to absolutely no one.

whose wonderful insight on grief inspired this lil’ poem.)

WIFE: You're very quiet. What are you thinking?

ME: How could anyone trust Scooby Doo and his gang to solve any crimes when they call their vehicle The Mystery Machine. It's clearly a van.

HER: Sometimes it's ok to say 'nothing'

Most of the time, as my form of resistance, I inform and teach. But this weekend, for the first time, really, I protested. Was a very positive experience. #NoKings #HersheyPA

Bunch people accused me of misinformation saying they’re targeting the disease not the people with the disease.

I’d like to ask: you think autism and ADHD and neurodivergence is a disease? And why exactly (and how exactly) do you think it’s ok to reduce the number of people with these conditions?
This commission statement refers to people with Autism, ADHD, asthma, auto-immune disease, and chronic illness as a “dire threat to the American people and our way of life”.

This is a manifesto against disability.

This is the language of eugenics.

She requested we go to “Playa Bowls” for breakfast.
I heard “Pliables” and was wondering about a diner where the wait staff encourages you to eat healthier options.
“Yes, you *could* have steak & eggs, but wouldn’t the oatmeal be better for your cholesterol?”

This evening, I have a little one-on-one time with my youngest. I suggested that we plan on "Pizza and Star Trek?" and the response was an enthusiastic, "That sounds great!"

Me: That's how Gandalf responds to the Balrog.
Her: Get out of my kitchen now.
