It's that special time of the year when I sing the song of my people.
It goes:
I'm freezing my ass off, and must make chicken tortilla soup for dinner.
Lucky for me, I found all the ingredients, including the super rare black beans and the stupidly rare fresh cilantro. It's a holiday miracle!

So how stupid has YouTube advertising become? I'm currently seeing ads inviting me to get authentic Italian food delivered to my house, when I live in in Italy. ('-_y)

I looked up the ONLY TWO NFL games on Netflix for Christmas, and the first sentence of their ad was "You can't spell Netflix without NFL." I spent the next hour gasping from laughter. Like, where's the rest of the season? NBC and Fox. BUT YOU CAN'T SPELL NETFLIX WITHOUT NFL. OMG IT'S SO STUPID! X^D

Random post: I smoked a duck for the first time ever.
Me: I smoked a duck once in my teens. I woke up in a pond with my mouth tasting like burnt feathers.

We watched The Vast of Night, which set itself up as a knockoff Twilight Zone, and then spends a long time in Quentin Tarantino dialogue bit before getting into the real story. Fifteen minutes in, I was wondering, “does this get to a good point?” Twenty minutes in, it got good, and stayed good.

I decided that even though I'm in Italy, this year I'm celebrating Thanksgiving. I've got a lot to be thankful for in these trying times, so I'm celebrating with a roast chicken and some garlic rosemary baby potatoes. For dessert there's chocolate from Modica! Happy Thanksgiging, y'all!

In the early 19th century, there was a small group of women writers who believed in finishing their latest stories before celebrating with their friends, all of them dressing in garter belts and stockings.
This group was called prose before hose.

So apparently, Amazon is struggling on how to bring back James Bond after he died. Setting aside the "it's just a moniker" argument, how about we take that hot new 007 from the last film and make a Jane Bond? Because I'd watch a whole series of her being a badass with no complaints.

I spent Halloween eating candy at a four-film horror movie marathon. The films were:
Skinamarink
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original remastered)
Presence
Vampyr (digital restored with a new orchestral backing track)
So, here we go with the rapid fire reviews...

It's that time again: time for a look at another Gradius as part of my year-long 40th anniversary celebration of the series. This time around, it's the Game Boy's Interstellar Assault, which bucks the trends of both Gradius and this game's predecessor, Nemesis, by being original in a few ways.
Retro spotlight: Gradius: The Interstellar Assault
Unlike Gradius' first Game Boy outing, there is a whole new game here.

The local theater has a four film marathon for Halloween. Each one is 5 euros, but the full run is 12 euros. I got my ticket now. My only issue is, how can I fit five hours of popcorn into my backpack? Leeeeet's gooooooo!

Nero the Assassin looked good in the trailer, but the first season was brilliant. It's got court intrigue, prophecies, feisty princesses, witches, and several bad guys whose plans actually make sense. The finale sets up a second season, and I wants it so, so much.

Genndy Tartakovsky shared test footage from his film ‘The Black Knight’. It follows a knight who controls a 20ft suit of armor. Sony isn't sure there's an audience for the film and haven’t greenlit it yet.

After Kpop demon hunters success I don't understand why Sony are dragging their feet on this!

Hubby came home with con crud, so to avoid staying awake from his loud coughing, I took the inflatable bed to the office. Settled down, and instantly got an allergy attack. The antihistamines finally kicked in around 5 am, so I did myself no favors. Ahahahahahahahahahaha.

Meet Lemonglop and Lemonbite Fuzziface the Evil Sorcerers. I designed and sewed them. While Lemonglop enjoys doling out curses as much as the next Fuzziface, she's very kind-hearted and her spells end up helping the cursed in a reverse monkey paw kind of situation.
