Halo kind of knows this but unfortunately I think the marketing totally failed the actual YA novels even though they were really good!
The Fall of Reach meanwhile is a precision strike on 13 year olds that gets away with it because the character gets to grow up so adults will still read it.

The real untapped market for Halo nobody talks about is YA novels. Kids love reading about child soldiers in fucked up situations. If Kelly-087 had gone mainstream she would have crushed Katniss Everdeen like a bug

Sending a copy of wolfquest anniversary edition back in time to the kid I was in 2007. It's exactly what I wanted. There's more piss than I would've thought though.

I think it's wonderful that Halo is bringing in a horror author to tell a scifi horror story. It's a big enough setting to have a home for a lot of subgenres like that.

From the "celebrate every bit of good news" department: people in the US Virgin Islands can now update the gender marker on their ID (the first Us territory to allow it). Too much medical and legal gatekeeping for it to be a *great* policy, but it's a start!

I have seen so many incredibly skilled Halo fans this weekend. The artists, the makers, the modders, the cosplayers, the forge builders, it's been amazing! Oh and some people who are really good at the game I guess.
