There were many red flags along the way up to this point. But this? Yeah that's the end for me as well. I will look for alternatives or host my own solution and migrate all of my stuff to that in the next weeks.

Sucks a bit to not be able to make issues for projects hosted on github anymore but I cannot stand the platform whatsoever. They just do not provide features I require like proper email notifications and email collaboration. Platforms owned by megacorporations is out of the question nowadays.

Deleted my github account the other day, hasnt felt right using it since the Microsoft takeover. Not that long ago I switched over to codeberg so I still have somewhere to host my repositories but ideally I would set up my own git server at some point.

Took almost a whole month, but ive got the damned thing set up. Running Steam on Linux with an Nvidia GPU is an absolute nightmare. All I wanted was a simple startup sequence that starts Kodi and then I can switch between Kodi & Steam and I did manage to get it working eventually.

My SO got a new graphics card today which means I have a new, decently used, Geforce 1050 to play with. Threw it in my old gaming rig (that i had since salvaged the gpu from) amd after a few hours of troubleshooting why the network card made the display go black I now have a computer to ... [1]

Back to posting again, have been really burned out on programming for the past couple months but I finally got back into it a few days ago and made a Chip-8 emulator. Next on the agenda is a GameBoy emulator. codeberg.org/Zettexe/chip...

Me and my SO have been extremely sick for the past few days, having a 39C degree fever is not very fun. It's finally starting to go down so maybe I can get back to life again.

Breaking news on font parsing, it was only harder than I thought cause I was actively fucking up the parsing. Zig packed structs get padded (since they are actually integers in disguise) so the reader kept reading too far into the font file without me knowing.

Turns out font parsing is at the same time easier and more complicated than I thought it would be. TrueType is a nightmare to figure out with how the reference manual is laid out. Luckily Zig makes the actual reading part of the files very straight-forward.

Made some quick zig bindings for sokol_gp. Next up and coming is an actual application rather than just binding a bunch of C libraries...

My work computer got *downgraded* to Windows 11 today due to company policy. Woe is me...

I forgot I have a Bluesky account, made bindings for the 2D layout library Clay in Zig. Originally made it for myself but im hoping people might find some use for it.

I don't want my fridge to have a camera or Wi-Fi. I don't want my dishwasher to be smart. I don't want my washing machine to text me.

In fact, I kinda miss knobs and dials and knowing big appliances would last 20 years and could still be repaired.

Working as much as we do today is NOT NORMAL and it's all due to capitalism. Medieval peasants all across the world had more leisure time than you as late as the 1600s.

Just helped my grandparents set up their new iphones and it really makes me appreciate how easy Apple has made the process... Now if only they could make it available for everyone

Every year around this time I post this comic up on the Find Chaffy Facebook page. I wait until other viral sites start posting it, then do it officially myself. It’s become a bit of a weird and lovely tradition for a lot of people, and it’s so nice 🫡
