As a CISO, I’ve found my RSAC weeks getting shorter and shorter and my Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) has been replaced by a Fear of Joining In (FOJI). For those that still enjoy it, I’m so happy for you and remember those days fondly.

Kim is spot on about the value of a liberal arts education. Well rounded individuals that think for themselves, understand context, and know how to research and solve problems are invaluable to an infosec team. I don't base hiring decisions on whether they have a degree or not, it definitely helps.
College doesn't just train you for a vocation it trains you for life. If done right, it produces well-rounded people who have knowledge of history, art, politics, civics, literature - things that can make them better workers and co-workers. Working for a tech company alone just trains you for a job
