Ive tried three times over the last hour to cancel my Disney+ subscription but I keep getting this message...
(hopefully it's because other like-minded people have overwhelmed their servers, but if, as you suggest, they change their minds, then I'll give them another chance)

FWIW, McCarthy's district (CA20 now held by Vince Fong) *is* gerrymandered. That gaping hole with the 'B' in Bakersfield is the predominately hispanic and black sections of town. It's not clear to me that McCarthy could have consistently won if his district contained *all* of Bakersfield.

When I was taking chemistry in 1974-75 our professor forbade us to us the newly-available, relatively inexpensive electronic pocket calculators. All calculations had to be done with slide rules. Still have them.
It turns our calculators didn't die out but I haven't used the slide rules since 1975.
