yeah so this happened last night while playing Protoball for Community Game Night.

In Protoball you can shoot a shield which explodes and pushes things away, you can knock the ball off course and self-pass, and... apparently you can do this.

Has to be the first time ever...

15 seconds from kick off to goal, a well executed play by us devs in a devs vs testers match. We put point zones back in, so there are 1, 2, and 3 point zones in the arena.

We added in-game text for certain events and it makes a huge difference. It's so much fun with the comic style pop-ups.

The difference becomes a lot more apparent in isometric view. You can see here the circular corner looks "flattened", and has jarring "bends" at either end. In comparison, the parabolic corner looks a lot more natural. If you don't see it, I truly envy you, and you can disregard this post.

Some of y'all are gonna think I've gone completely nuts, but I'm gonna talk about rounded corners and why circles suck.

Most devs take it for granted that rounded corners are circles. Spoiler: They don't have to be!

There is a much more aesthetically pleasing and cheaper alternative. 🧵👇

I couldn't sleep, working on the Material for electricity and lightning, as you know, there will be a lot of this in my Sci-Fi game and soon you will known about the plot and the place. I have already shown such an Niagara. But now it's a different material and looks better

15 seconds of our indie game, Protoball. In this clip we save a goal with a shield projectile, eliminate an opponent with a shield, then I clear the goal with another shield so my teammate can shoot their shot uncontested. The remake of Protoball is feeling so damn good right now. Come play!

I reached the end of the game The Beast Inside and I want to say: thanks Illusion Ray Studio for great product, it has a lot of gameplay events, diverse design, pace, horror... and I was surprised that the development team is so small.

These sewing lines in Marvelous Designer hit me with such nostalgia today when I connected them to an old screensaver on old Windows 95 or 98 PCs. I loved those old screensavers so much.

Someone might say that it's like an anomaly in Stalker 2. OK. When I came up with the anomaly for my Sci-Fi game, the main reference was my childhood memory of an encounter with ball lightning. #gamedev #scifi #indiedev #games #indiegame #UnrealEngine
