Thats weird. I do have access to a non-road bike. I’ll take it 3 miles tomorrow and see what’s wrong with it.

Like, it’s 3 miles to work and I can’t be sweaty when I get there. And San Francisco is good for cycling, but if it was faster I would probably just take the bus/uber.

I know that anything but a road bike wouldn’t be practical for where I am. And I see other commuters every day almost all of whom came to the same conclusion.

I’ve done a tandem bike tour with my non-cyclist wife, surely that’s similar

speed can be more important for mode of choice than comfort.

But also I don’t own a car, and getting across town is already 5 miles 🤷🏾

Ehh any medium/long distance ride without a road bike / e-bike is going to get painful
