I did something to break my Linux install and now I have to download an update over USB because I do not have an ethernet cable at this house orz. Moving was a huge mistake.

On this day 20 years ago .hack//fragment, an online PS2 game, was released only in Japan. After going offline in 2007, fans have restored online service since then and patched the game into English. Click the link to learn more.

I need to stop using Google. We're at the point of it randomly sending me notifications with "headlines" that when clicked initiate a Google overview with utterly useless garbage word soup.

some of the minigames on Where Winds Meet are stupidly hard holy shit

Hazbin Hotel has a lot of really good characters but I really wish Vivziepop was capable of creating a single evil person who's not just a murderer.

I feel like Vox became a much weaker character with the reveal that he directly killed people to get the a position of power.

Guild Wars is doing what?????

Where Winds Meet is shockingly playable for a free to play gacha game. It does not escape the UI woes, and the heavy monetisation is there. But it's probably the first open world gacha game where you can completely skip the gacha, and the only thing that changes about your experience is outfits.

there's something about being ill in Where Winds Meet in the Online Mode, and having a bunch of players swarm you to try and heal you.

the whole AI craze is genuinely wild. a game will come out saying it has some form of "complex AI chatbot" and all it ends up being is a bunch of NPCs that have pre-written responses that can change very slightly based on specific keywords.

the combat in Where Winds Meet is so unapologetically fun. Tossing people off cliffs and seeing trees fall down as they crash into them might be my favourite thing about this game.

idk why there's complaints about the parry system in Where Winds Meet, it's good? It feels exactly the same as First Berserker Khazan, where you weave parries between your abilities to deplete the stance meter and its super satisfying, if hard, to do.

Where Winds Meet is in this weird position where it marketed it self as a big singleplayer open world story game, the community hyped it as some kind of big MMORPG, meanwhile it's a secret third thing (Genshin Impact).

I can already tell, just from the character creator, that Where Winds Meet is one of those games that is absolutely filled with details just to make the game appear more complex, but in reality is very shallow.

The consistent thing between Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel's animation is that they both do technically impressive things that are relatively bland to look at.

There's a weird phenomena where people get visibly fatigued by a kind of media when it comes from one company, but the moment someone else does that again with no attachment to the original, its a huge hit.

Releasing a new game that's just the old game with some slight incremental improvements you'd expect from a free update is such a Paradox thing to do.

Sword of Justice is frustrating cos in spite of really enjoying it and thinking it's a very fun game I cannot recommend anyone play it. There's just too many caveats to enjoying it.

It's kinda weird to say this honestly, but the only city builder that actually got zoning right is Cities XL.

Sword of Justice has unironically shifted my view on graphics in video games. This game looks absolutely stunning, one of the most graphically impressive games I have ever played, and it performs so amazingly well, some of the best performance in a modern video game.

one of the hidden benefits of being bi-lingual is having a really good understanding of why localisation is so important, because sometimes I will see someone's fan translation from English to Polish and I'll be like "gurl, the words might be the same, but that don't mean the same thing"

Kinda love Sword of Justice's solution to the whole, wheelchair in fantasy problem, where the character in the wheelchair just sorta flies to get around.
