Unfollowing opportunism enthusiasts! We have to build our counter-institutions and anti capitalist organizations outside the state in order to defeat capitalism!! People enthusiastic about reformism want proletarian rage to be assimilated back into broken corrupt edifices instead of building anew

Not fair. Wilhelm Reich the psychoanalyst thought jellyfish, whose being consisted of expansion (pleasure) and contraction (anxiety), were the models for the most basic functions of psycho-biological existence. (It gets sexual, real fast.)

Jelly fish are the most terrifying animal Because they have no eyes or mouth and just contract creepily in a gooey form infinitely in the ocean forever! Jelly fish like viruses are somewhere between alive or dead because they just cycle between being polyps on the ocean floor and contracting blobs

Fourteen or fifteen years ago I posted this status update, a friend combined it with an image and it went viral. It still circulates around, often with new images like this one. I think that this has less to do with the nature of the quote than the reality it describes.

I am eating Chinese food today on a day when many Americans eat foods which they categorize as autumnal but are just foods that are more directly inspired by foods stolen from indigenous people on a day celebrating colonization by European settlers! I miss my family but they are hard to be around

Therapy is a very unregulated industry just like psychiatry in the US! It is very hard to win a malpractice case against a therapist or prove abuse! There are not even reliable laws if you get mistreatment by a Therapist

“Today every programme and designation has lost its meaning; socialists speak in capitalistic terms, capitalists in socialistic terms and everybody believes anything and nothing. This situation is merely the climax of a long development which has been initiated by the labour movement itself.“

My problem with advocates of this concept of “dialectical materialism” instead of the historical materialism I find in Marx, is that they sometimes think it is enough to oppose or negate or critique, and they make no demand to synthesize anew! The dialectic is ternary not dyadic! We must birth anew

“It is quite revealing that the anti-war attitude, in order to be effective at all, had first to find parliamentary permission. It had to be dramatised on the stage of a bourgeois institution, thus indicating its limitations from the very beginning.” - Paul Mattick

“it is, therefore, still necessary to single out men like Otto Rühle in order to describe the modern revolutionary opposition, although such singling out is quite contrary…to the needs of the workers who must learn to think in terms of classes rather than in terms of revolutionary personalities.”

“To overcome capitalism, actions outside the labour-capital-market relations are necessary, actions that do away with both the market and with class relations. Restricted to actions within the framework of capitalism, the old labour movement fought from the very beginning on unequal terms.” - Mattic

It is not the market which controls the people and determines the prevailing social relations but rather the fact that a separate group in society either owns or controls both the means of production and the instruments of suppression. Market situations, whatever they may be, always favour capital.
