I've seen peameal and back bacon at the butcher way back in the day (longtime vegetarian and US resident now) but the stuff I see on pizza is just round sliced ham? I just don't understand why Americans call it Cdn bacon instead of ham! Must sound more exotic, lol Maplewashing!

Maybe future you prioritized a visit to the 1970s to fix a past mistake and then blew a gasket there and can't fix the time machine and get back to a time where email exists.

I'm old enough to be partly raised by people who lived through the Depression & WWII. The scarcity mentality runs deep. While my grandparents are long gone, my mother still practices frugality & so do I. Take care of the pence, and the pounds will take care of themselves. "Device hoarding" 🙄

Neither my mother nor MIL were this extreme but my mother thought I should be feeding my baby "real food" when I was exclusively breastfeeding for the first 6 months. Their generation was taught that formula is better. She still makes occasional "real food" remarks about my bf choices, 23 yrs later.

I was driving on the freeway recently and a motorcyclist lane split between me and the lane to my left. I had no idea he was there until he blew past me and gave me a heart attack. If I had chosen that exact second to avoid a pothole he'd be road pizza. Cars are going to be doing this autonomously??

The leaves are certainly pretty and I miss Eastern Autumn (I'm on the west coast now), but Chester is a perfect boi! He's so happy!
