When you speak out, people hear you
When you stand up, people see you
When you march together, people listen to you
When you get creative, people notice you
When you find a new way, people follow you
When you insist, people respect you
When you resist, people watch you
When you persist, people win

Booksellers are not merely people who sell some popular books in a competitive market.

I have long felt that this is way more significant, on many levels, than we might at first guess. The almost complete removal of any need to actively engage - whether physically or intellectually - in the actual process of a quest/search. It's a payment, and it means something.
"They have removed the struggle to find anything. Book store owners and record store owners used to be oracles, in that way; you'd go in this dusty old place and they might point you toward something that would change your life. All that's gone." - Tom Waits
