Just a basic media collection on Jellyfin for now, especially a lot of content for my nephew! Super stoked to have this setup across my house. 💞

It's for reasons like this that I am appreciative of Ai / LLMs. They work well in solving simple issues, maybe not so much world-news or politics.

Funny, I couldn't figure out how to change my color profile on Linux under Wayland, and I simply used Google Gemini to do so. It worked, too. Helped me obtain my ICC profile with step-by-step instructions, as well as a script to activate the color mode on boot.

Pretty cool!

There is nothing wrong with being wrong, or putting yourself out there, to learn. If anyone judges your intentions immediately and gets you wrong, that's on them to figure out.

Portray yourself best you can and understand nuance. There are details to every story / relationship, be open minded!

Finished setting up my *most* of my devices emulation wise, specifically my Pixel 7a and my Arch PC. Phone for my portable / retro titles and the PC for heavier working games.

Feels great to have this setup, and the Pixel is surprisingly strong for being a budget variant. Very pleased!

Yknow, I used to think that, when Ubuntu started focusing less on the desktop and prioritizing snaps that Fedora would be the new standard. While it seems it is, with RedHat being RedHat, I truly wonder if there are better options.

Mint, which is the gold standard of beginner friendly. Thinking...

Been trying to make use outta my dad's Nvidia shield, want him to feel that his purchase is justified and, imo, it is! Great for multimedia and even some lighter emulation. Really solid device and just works most of the time.

Gotta finish setting up my jellyfin server for him today!

As someone who daily drives Arch Linux and loves messing with my system, I think it's fairly easy to recognize that it's okay that Linux isn't for everyone, lol.

There are some hiccups that keep the transition in a tough place. It's a bit confusing in some areas for newcomers still, but that's okay

Linux Mint just continues to be the best example and gateway for many Linux newcomers. Super cool and a great distro to have that rep, imo. It sincerely just works and has anytime I've used it. As well, it also has a new edge ISO as well as a Debian edition, with Wayland support coming soon? Holy...

I've got some dope ass friends & family, honestly. Lucky to be at this point in life, as lucky as hard as I fought. Proud of myself and proud of who my loved ones have become and I'm looking forward to the future for the first time.

Just felt like putting this out there into the wind, I suppose. 💞

Damn, if Debian allowed backporting of desktops, I'd probably be VERY into running it daily, but... Arch. Plus, Debian doesn't have the AUR, so, idk.

I don't use the AUR much and could use flatpaks for what I reasonably use it for, but... idk I'm just comfy on Arch. We'll see, we'll see...

Other Linux desktops are great beyond KDE to me, as much as I love Plasma. Budgie stands out to me, as well as hyprland as a beautiful WM that just... is unparalleled in the looks department.

I'm personally not that big on GNOME itself, but I do love it's workflow, and the simplicity is hella neat.

I'll always be there to try out new releases of desktops and experiment, especially with so much moving to Wayland, but I think I'll daily drive KDE Plasma on my main rig full-time no matter what for the foreseeable future.

It's just so pretty to me and appealing, plus I love *how* it's designed.

I really, really like Bluesky's UI. It just is so small, organized and works.
