Well, as one who has lived in both BC and the Chicago area I can say they’ll be getting an upgrade in the scenic beauty quotient! Also, here’s to future TEDS-Regent College Marvel team-ups.

One of the things I love about being an editor is learning something new from a manuscript. Like today when I learned Handel’s “Water Music” was basically commissioned so King George I could flex on his opulent son, who was going too hard with his parties and making the King look lame. #editorlife

One of the best and worst parts of parenting is when you hear your kid erupt into a despairing meltdown across the house and it sounds exactly like the screamo song you’re listening to whilst working from home.

We have a book cover! I’ve spent the past four years working on a project via @ivpacademic.bsky.social that pulls together sixteen scholars & artists in order to show how the doctrine of the Holy Spirit might both illuminate and be illuminated through the arts.

Emmanuel Mounier is like “I was post-rock before it was even a thing!” Great cover and even better book. @undpress.bsky.social

The weather in Chicagoland today looks like a Jesu album cover. IYKYK.

Holding my sleeping baby and listening to Rocky Votolato’s lovely “Wild Roots” in an otherwise quiet house. I cherish these windows of grace when common life feels like Orwell’s take on an absurdist game show.

Am I shopping for Christmas presents for my family or having some me time browsing a bookstore unbothered by small humans? I mean, who’s to say?

This is one of the most well-written explanations of certain kinds of AI errors I’ve seen to date. (The whole article is great too.)

Folks, I don’t know about using the word “skeet” for Bluesky posts. I mean, what do Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz think? Also, has no one consulted the open access platform Urban Dictionary about this? Because . . .

I ask this in love.

Congratulations to Matthew Barrett and all the contributors to On Classical Trinitarianism for winning the TGC book award in theological studies. I can’t wait to get to work on the recently contracted follow up on Chalcedon and classical Christology!

Home for Thanksgiving and lost in the TN foothills. The kids explored too deep into a cave for their mom’s comfort.

The Bears are absolutely unwatchable under Eberflus. I’ve never seen anything like it.

The dunk is the fast food version of critical engagement.

It would be a win if Bluesky turns out to have many fewer dunks per capita than the spaceman’s platform.
I must not dunk.
Dunks are the time-killer
Dunks are the little stress that bring on social alienation
I will ignore bad takes
I will allow them to pass, or block them
And when they are off my feed I will read things that matter
And where the takes have gone there will be nothing
Only I will remain
Yep, I'm here to protect my peace. I will not fight random people on the internet.

LOTR; Little, Big; Complete Short Stories of Flannery; Go Down, Moses; The Name of the Rose
Let's get to know each other through books.

Quote or reply to this and tell me the four or five books that define you.

I'll start: David Copperfield, Pickwick Papers, Through the Looking Glass, In Search of Lost Time, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. #booksky

Maybe the best animated movie ever made.
Song of the Sea is on Netflix. Love and grief and music and myth and wild nature💙

This reminds me of a class I took at Regent College, in which Malcolm Guite said that Christianity was not simply the judge but more the crown of Norse and Gaelic culture. That basically changed my perspective on everything art+culture related. You all should check out this book from IVP!
In my book with @ivpress.bsky.social, "Prayers for the Pilgrimage," I transposed the English-language days of the week into a christological key, which meant that I reimagined the Norse and Roman gods as echoes of the One true God.

Here's my prayer for "Thor's Day." Lord in your mercy...

Yesssss. Please don’t be the Trunchbull from Matilda. Kids are delightful—except when they aren’t. But that’s all of us.
If you are passionate about accessibility and inclusion and also don’t like seeing children in public no you aren’t

I don’t know how to describe this energy but I want more of it. Theotokos with a legit submission hold. Looks like she’s about to get the tap out.
Please enjoy this 14th century depiction of the Virgin Mary wrestling a ferocious demon while an angel babysits (because why not? 🤷🏻‍♀️). #MedievalManuscripts #Manuscripts #RareBooks #Women 📜 📚
