This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.

It's a useful reminder that sometimes tech can make a task more efficient for one side (applying for jobs), and more efficient for the other side (writing job adverts), and yet make the system as a whole completely inefficient.

The deluge of movies based on books is a tad exhausting. I’m sure other movies exist, but anything with ad-spend in my corner is based on books. Books are amazing! & it makes me want to go read the books instead! Happy for the writers too! But what does it mean if movies are primarily born of books?

interesting read on pricing strategies. the alternatives seem obvious when i read them, but yowza. i don't love the saas experience as a consumer these days, but this is quite the discovery:

This scenario illustrates the "AI pricing paradox"—the very engagement that companies want to encourage can erode margins if pricing isn't set carefully.

On tariffs, market reactions, interest rates, and bond rates, and devaluation of the dollar. Hard to understand.

Maybe part of the believable idea was to force Fed’s hand to lower interest rates. Higher inflation makes that hard to do, but we move.

Motivation was cheaper money.
