More "wizard car"!!
Page 5 of a pencil sketchbook. Panel 1: The mechanitch glances towards the wizard (not pictured in this panel), taking a moment to think of a response to the wizard making fun of her. Panel 2: Almost identical to panel 1, but with the mechanitch shutting her eyes nonchalantly and gesturing towards the car (also not in this panel). She says "You clearly know your stuff. Why'd an old sphere head like you need me?" Panel 3: Again, almost identical to panels 1 and 2, but this time she has a very smug smile while continuing to have her eyes shut. Behind her, the wizard's speechbubble is full of ranting. Some of the words are obscured, but you can make out "old!?" (Underlined for emphasis) "i'm a spritely three-hundred-n'-two!! barely a quarter of my --" Panel 4: Wide silhouette shot. The mechanitch is walking towards the car while the wizard is so mad steam is wafting off her head. The mechanitch says "Don't sweat it, mage. I can fix your hexer up like new." Panel 5: The mechanitch is very close to the camera, such that we can only see a bit of her boot, and the backpack she was wearing earlier being put down with a gentle "Put." sound effect. The wizard is in the back with the mechanitch's motorbroom, still angry, but with her face in her hands. Panel 6: Identical framing to the previous panel, but the bag has been completely put down, and the mechanitch is tiptoeing forward with the sound effect "Tip toe.". The wizard has dropped their hands, a little less steamed. The mechanitch says "Good instinct popping the hood, but the way..." Page 6 of a pencil sketchbook. Panel 1 and 2 are a before and after of the mechanitch pulling a lever from inside the open hood. She says "...but you MISSED a step!". Panel 3 and 4 are a before and after of the underside of the car. By pulling the lever in panel 2, a series of mechanical legs - kind of like a laundry clothes horse - have popped out of the underside of the flying car, giving it somewhat safe points of contact with the ground. Panel 5 is another wider shot of the mechanitch having taken a step back from the car, dusting her hands. The lever continues to vibrate a little, and her backpack is sitting at her feet. She says "Okay. Now it won't break my toes if we trip the Thaumic off." Panel 6: The mechanitch turns back. She says "Mg. Erstwham, before I get the scroll out, did a previous mechanitch bring the Pituccia thing up...?" Panel 7: A rather simple, silly looking version of the wizard holds up a single finger, and speaks. "he said I wasn't paying him enough to care about something like that." Panel 8 is just a tiny sliver underneath the previous speechbubble of the wizard. The mechanitch looks extremely goofy and tiny, and has her eyes shut in exasperation. There is a sweat drop next to her, and a long sequence of ellipses......

Page 3 of a pencil sketchbook. Panel 1: A clearly retro-looking 1960s-esque car, hovering just above the ground. Instead of wheels, there are strange metal coils, like screw gears, which are implied to be the levitating element. The bonnet is popped open, with something bird-like glinting on top. The license plate reads "XH26•ZB5", in the region of "🌙 PFERD". Panel 2: A look from inside the car's open bonnet, with lots of strange mechanical detail (and a book and scroll) towards the motorbroom rider and Mg. Erstwham the wizard. The rider has taken off her backpack and is holding it one-handed, with the other on her hip. The wizard is looking at the rider while gesturing towards the car, saying "it's a beaut, isn't it?" Panel 3: A close-up of the glinting birdlike object on top of the open bonnet. It is a metal crow hood ornament. The wizard continues "a thirteen-sixty-two Corvone Stellesta,". Inset, the rider looks nonplussed, glancing up and to the side. Panel 4: Another shot of the engine's mechanical detail. Inset is the motorbroom rider again, looking noticably more fed up. The wizard continues "with a duel plate-and-ignition H6-star enscrypgine, it-" but is interrupted by the rider, who says "Mg. Erstwham, I'm a mechanitch." (mechanitch is a portamenau of 'mechanic' and 'witch', and is underlined for emphasis.) "You think I don't know Stellestas are all pieces of shit to a fault?" Page 4 of a pencil sketchbook. Panel 1: The wizard laughs an intense, short burst of "HA!" in large lettering, spooking the mechanitch. You can see that the wizard has a forked tongue and dangerous-looking teeth, and her sunglasses have bounced up off the top of her face. She is pointing in the general direction of the mechanitch, but the response is too involuntary to have aimed properly. Panel 2: The wizard is looking rather more sinister, with the hat over her eyes, one sharp tooth visible in her grin, and holding the sunglasses with two fingers by one of its arms. Visible in one of the lenses' reflection is the mechanitch's face, trying to play it cool and looking away but visibly still unsettled, with the cartoon indicator of small sweat drops over her. The wizard says "nothin' gets by you, lassie! my car's a nightmare.", with the last word underlined for emphasis. Panel 3: a look in the bonnet of the car, at a scroll, inscripted plate, and backwards-bound book with ribbon bookmark laid on top (these were all visible on the previous page but not drawn attention to prior). The wizard says "the owner's tome has misprinted recovery runes,". Panel 4: A view at the floor of the driver's side of the car, with a gas and brake pedal in the focus of the shot, and the driver's side door still open. The wizard continues "the whoa pedal has a habit of catching,". Panel 5: A silhouette of the car facing the viewer, with the road to the right. The framing is extremely isolating, with not a single living thing in shot. The wizard continues, but without a speechbubble to really hammer this unsettling, weary feeling home: "and it broke down in the middle of the desert."
