This is one of many reasons we will never go back to austerity under a Labour government.

The launch of Labour's Best Start Family Hubs, one of which will be based in our constituency, will rebuild the childcare infrastructure that Osborne dismantled in the name of austerity.

Those numbers are from 2020, and since then, millions of people have spent lockdown gambling online, where there is little regulation and a high risk of addiction. A proper tax on online slots and predatory practices would raise money while also combatting problem gambling. (4/4)

At the moment, there are no disincentives to do this; 60% of the industry’s profits come from just the 5% of customers, who are either problem gamblers or at risk. (3/4)

There is far too much focus from gambling chiefs on moving players to low-cost, high-earning online slots, which are incredibly addictive and more likely to create problem gamblers. (2/4)
