Just noticed on an old VHS that Robert Patrick was wearing a NIN shirt when he was 3D scanned for the T-1000. That would have been 1990, so he was proudly supporting his brother Richard Patrick, who was in a new band called Nine Inch Nails at the time.

RIP Tatsuya Nakadai, it is legit remarkable that you lived a further 40 years beyond Ran
Tatsuya Nakadai here a real Von Sydow in The Exorcist situation, looks old as time (obviously more exaggeratedly than Von Sydow's relatively subtle makeup) but was only 52. he's still alive!

one of the extras on the Criterion edition is Pauline Kael's appearance on Dick Cavett (alongside Rod Serling!) singing its praises, and I'm not massively keen on Kael but man, those were the days huh, bringing out a film critic on a talk show just because they're an interesting person to talk to
moratorium on all digital filmmaking tools until we figure out how to make movies look as good as McCabe & Mrs. Miller again

score needs to be, like, below a 4.0 to pull a move like this off, and even then, iffy
A few months ago Indigo De Souza called Pitchfork “internet bullies” over a 6.6 review of her new album and asked her fans to tell the publication it was “whack”: “why not ONLY write reviews about art you LIKE?”
Last night she wore a shirt featuring the review onstage at Pitchfork Music Festival.
