Been working on my Steel Legion. Marines are waaaaay cheaper (points-wise) than they should be right now, you should try and get them on the table.

But when you walk around the battlefield, which takes only about an hour, its real small. You realize that house can see the entire battlefield, every-time you come out of the trees on the confederate side, theres the west house and that hill crest looking at you.

When I went to malvern hill this may, the thing that struck me the most was how unassuming the “hill” is. It’s more malvern gentle slope with unobstructed fields of fire. This is the perspective from the union position. Plus looking backwards at the house that centered the union line.

New flamer just dropped. Im getting better! It turn out the best way to git gud at mini painting is to grind out a horde army 6 models at a time.

Making some progress on my Steel Legion models for 40k. I have to say that I really like the low bar needed to paint these. A lot of newer models are just covered in greebles and details. I am not good enough of a painter to take advantage of any of that. But these older style models are easier.

3d Printing update! I have successfully printed a full
Set of krieger proxies using the old steel legion models. Also starting to paint. Im pretty mid at painting, but my goals are readable and table ready, so its not a high bar. Very happy with the results!

I’ve always wondered about that shotgun barrel on the LeMat, like there’s no way that works well right? But on the other hand, pistol shotguns are cool, and gives it nice lines.

Those are present at a lot of his battles. Malvern Hill, for instance. Almost exactly 1 year prior to Pickett’s charge. Which is the main one I was thinking of for a debacle. Its wild visiting that battlefield, more Malvern gentle slope with long fields of fire.
