Chicago is an interesting place and I do like it.

Most if not all of my trips involve Amtrak. Shoutout to them to having trains run on time in today’s sloppy mess.

This is something very rough that I came up with and due to layer limits it isn't as comprehensive as I envision, missing some corridors like New Britain Ave. (6/7)

Great way to start the day by being herded like cattle thru three open doors and having to stand on Amtrak from HFD to Berlin. Idk why Amtrak insists on boarding procedures that take so long.

Enfield Station has been on my mind, because another express route that I think could help anchor it is Route 917 - Granby Ctr to Stafford Springs via BDL, Enfield Station, and Johnson Memorial Hospital (1/3)

One of the new routes that I am thinking about is Route 915 - Enfield Station - ECSU. This route would provide students at ECSU and UCONN access to the Hartford Line via Rockville and Broad Brook. While the 913/918 do provide service to Hartford, this would provide quicker access to BDL/Mass (3/5)

These are places that I've identified as bus stops that could use enhanced shelters, real time signage, layover facilities for drivers, etc. Something like the transit centers of the Twin Cities or Canada. Are there other spots in the area that could serve as hubs, especially East of the River?

Another rail option would be light rail, something similar to San Diego or Denver with closer stop spacing, trains running under wire, and more frequent service. This would allow for expansion along the Day Hill Rd corridor to serve major employment centers. It would also be emission free! (7/x)

Both options have its pros and cons…a DMU would be quicker to implement, and wouldn't require wiring, it would also be easier to tie into Hartford Union Station. This would be something similar to NJTransit's RiverLine or O-Train's Line 2/4. Light rail like but with diesel trains. (5/x)

While Hartford may be the namesake for a scrappy regional/commuter rail line, there is another rail line in Hartford that is ripe for transit development. The Griffin Line is a state owned rail line that is single tracked and leased for freight use…(1/x)

Dammit, I got into mapping…let's chuck the 153 & replace it with the routes above & this one too! Route 156 - Bloomfield Ctr to Sigourney St Sta with service to UHart, UConn Law, West End and HPHS. It's like the Collegetown Shuttle in Baltimore. @rsgat.bsky.social @urbandispatch.bsky.social

I'm taking a page from @urbandispatch.bsky.social with some potential enhancements to CT Fastrak. Yesterday was my first day using the system and I use transit in Hartford, but Fastrak doesn't do much if you live north of Albany Avenue like I do. So here are some thoughts to allow for more use…(1/5)

An Amtrak ride is a perfect time to make the transition from the bad place to here. Looking forward to a less toxic place to exist digitally.
