Always find some good stuff at the NCEM off Walmgate. Klezmer, Argentinian tangos, Armenian folk tunes and all places in-between from a trio called Triptic. More fun than it sounds. Good choice of beverages too for the discerning gig-goer.

The lovely Black Swan, Peasholme Green. C15th townhouse turned C18th inn now dwarfed by DEFRA's Foss House on Norman King John's fish pool and an insurance company building on Viking Hungate.

The Stygian gloom finally lifts and the crowds still flock. Time for some Tetleys in the Hole in the Wall and Old P in the Royal Oak, Goodramgate and Black Swan, Peasholm Green with Ghost the greyhound. Nice atmosphere amongst the shoppers.

Nice couple of pints of Landlord in the Phoenix this tea time. The place was full of grandparents and children owing to the York Community Choir gig at the Barbican round the corner. Nice atmosphere as ever.

Your regular reminder that there are only 2 countries in the world with religious clerics guaranteed seats in government or parliament: Iran… and the UK.
Yet again, peers from across the House have called for the removal of the bishops. We agree. No seats should be given as of right to one religion or belief. The Bill to remove Hereditary peers is welcome, but should extend to Lords Spiritual too. humanists.uk/2024/12/12/p...
