I had the privilege to introduce the movie Ainda estou aqui (I’m still here) in a première in Oslo with Barbara Hoff Schmidt. A movie that could not be more relevant to discuss the current role of the military in Brazilian society. Also, an amazing performance from Fernanda Torres. Go watch it!

The Amazon river in Manaus is moving fast to a new record low level (the current one was reached last year). But what the picture cannot convey is the burning smell that impregnates the whole city. Brazil is burning.

October last year, I conducted with colleagues from NordSTAR_ai @oslomet.bsky.social a nation-wide survey in Norway about trust in AI (n=1,330). We are still analyzing the data, but one interesting take out: Norwegians know little about AI, but in general are positive to its effects in society.

I am very happy to see this piece with @tboas.bsky.social , Danny Hidalgo and Monique Menezes accepted in @thejop.bsky.social. It was a great combination of insights from qualitative work tested on quantitative data. Full disclosure: we didn’t know what DAPs were when we started this project!
