The Mets’ $126M question mark.

New York pivots hard from missing Tucker to landing Bo Bichette on a 3-year, $42M AAV deal. Opt-outs after years 1 & 2.

The profile is clear: elite pure contact (.294 career AVG, .311 in ‘25), patient ‘25 approach (14.5% K), and proven rebound ability.

The Franchise Pillars (Tier 1)
3. Kyle Tucker (22.7 fWAR): The new Dodger is the model of complete, consistent elite production. Power (127 HR), speed (96 SB), elite contact skills (14.6% K%), and plus defense. No weakness.

🔥The Dodgers didn't need a long saga. They saw the best player available and signed him. This is what they do.
Tucker is among the top 3 OF in fWAR since 2021 (22.7), trailing only Judge & Soto.

The Elite Outfielder Tier System, Defined.

Looking at the Top 15 in fWAR over the last 5 seasons (2021-2025) reveals the clear, unassailable hierarchy of modern outfielders. Here’s what the data screams:

You can’t buy a championship. If you could, the Mets would have won a few years ago, and the Yankees would have more than zero rings in the last 17 years.

You *can* buy your way into the playoffs, then roll the dice from there.

Reminder that Miguel Rojas hit the biggest homer of the MLB season.
Total bitch move by Tucker. Like Durant to Golden State. Laughable. Embarrassing if they don't win the World Series

It's the 2030 MLB season. The Dodgers are the entire National League All-Star roster. Their payroll is roughly equivalent to the GDP of Liechtenstein. Shohei has six rings and seven MVPs. Everyone is whining about the system, but the MLB has its best annual revenue ever.

Even with deferrals, the going-on-29-year-old right fielder has outdone Juan Soto’s average annual value, albeit on a much shorter deal.
