Note to editors and producers: If an executive order demands action that is illegal or outside of the president’s authority, then you should not describe it as ordering something. You should say it seeks to achieve some outcome and then note it is illegal or beyond the power of the president.

ProPublica looked into science grants that Ted Cruz's team flagged as "radical" and "neo-Marxist" and, uh.

This would be good comedy if it didn't matter so much www.propublica.org/article/ted-...

I went for the first time last summer. Very good museum to visit! Support the museum and protest the president!
After the federal layoffs

No staff to collect admission!

So the JFK Museum is free

Doubt this is a money-saver

But free museum 👍🏼

Again, this idea has been floating out there for ages, and many other governments around the globe use the concept of shadow cabinets. Why haven't the Dems actually done this?
One thing Democratic leadership could do right now is to name an alternate HHS secretary--someone to provide ongoing public updates and health information. And do it for other departments too. Start showing voters what a Democratic government would look like--press conferences, speeches, all of it.

The urgency of the frenetic need to do everything to cover - vulnerable people, health-advancing research, knowledge creation and dissemination - keeps us from catching our breath and asking the important, "But, why?" Maybe no one is listening. But we must continue to ask why. What justifies it all?

Hearing from a govt contractor that Dept of Education is terminating What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) contracts.
WWC is a website that rigorously evaluates education policies, programs, and products to determine what's effective and not. It's an invaluable tool for school, district, state leaders

I am hearing that the Department of Education has started issuing stop work orders. Much like USAID did a few weeks ago 😤

Our federal government agencies, capacity, knowledge, & staff are under attack (from within)! 🤬

This is an ♾️🚨 fire, we are experiencing a ‘soft’ coup.

🙏🏼 share & ☎️ your reps!!
This is what many folks said was required to dissolve USAID but it has largely happened WITHOUT an act of Congress…

DHS now barring members of Congress from Dept of Ed

Pretty sure this is not in the portfolio of DHS?

Have they been used as security at federal agencies in the past?

See this map? This map is why — when you call a friend in LA to say “Hey I’m gonna been in Los Angeles next week. Wanna get together?” — there’s a long pause.
Been getting a lot of people asking about LA geography concerned that the images they see means the entire county is on fire. That's understandable.

But LA is a big place. So, to give an idea of scale it's time to cart this out again. It's a map of LA with other cities superimposed on it.
