Day 7. I couldn't read books for many years. Always too overwhelmed, stressed, exhausted. I felt very sad about it. What worked: I created a list of the books my friends considered "page-turners". Then I made a rule to read at least one page at night. It worked! Now I can read any type of book.

Day 6. Watched "The Boy and the Heron". Have a feeling I didn't understand half and missing some context. Is it necessary to know more of Japanese mythology and history to understand all the metaphors? The movie is very good though.

Day 5. Rebuilding my life in a new country was not an easy experience. Most of the life skills were inapplicable anymore, even the basic ones – like going to the doctor. It was kind of "adulting round 2". Sometimes I felt desperate. But after 8 years here I feel so much more resourceful.

Day 4. I'm a #language reading #polyglot, not the language speaking polyglot. I accepted it for what it is, but every time people ask "how many languages do you speak", I feel awkward. But yes, I enjoy grammar and books and spend endless hours on that. Speaking is just not my thing.

Day 3. Does employee #ux impact customer experience? The intuitive answer is "yes". If technology employees use is confusing and cumbersome, it will lead to slower service, mistakes, and other negative effects on customer experience. However, it might be very difficult to catch with metrics.

Day 2. While watching "L'amica geniale" (My Brilliant Friend) TV Show, learning some things about Neapolitan language.

In Neapol in the 1950s Italian was considered a "prestigious language" and Neapolitan a "low dialect". Languages are quite different: children have to learn verb forms in school.

Just landed! 😌 I want to try writing one post a day for a week and see how that goes.

I am a 45-year old woman living in Brooklyn, NY. I moved to the United States 8 years ago.

I have a son who left for college this year (RPI).

I love foreign language learning, dogs, and all things UX Research.
