Those shirts and these signs from supporters of the two teams which were cut from the CBS broadcast very clearly rankled people at USL HQ if they had to go to those lengths

This post by the USLPA needs to be seen and read.

The league withheld the materials from the USL Championship trophy celebration in retaliation for the players walking out in their USLPA shirts along with cutting out broadcast angles with that message.

@nsl.ca just made an appearance on my fav football podcast Football Cliches (open.spotify.com/show/6U4LfcF...)! At the 30:50 mark of the Jan 13 show, the team expresses skepticism about the choice of attributes to describe GK Tynan. It's all tongue-in-cheek but happy to have our league discussed.

So much has been gained for all workers thanks to CUPW members: collective bargaining rights (!), paid parental leave, job security, the right to retire with dignity, and safe working conditions.

Union history is workers history (yes, all workers). Learn more: canadianlabour.ca/uncategorize...

Wrote this 5 years ago and it's finally out. Social Work Abolitionism in the Midst of the Hong Kong Protests explores the social work abolitionist praxis that emerged in this context of the protests, from aunties cooking food for protestors to underground clinics.

"contextualize our critique of China's further crackdown on Hong Kong activists in the ongoing genocide of Palestinians ... a forceful recognition of the US' hypocrisy that sees officials condemning the kangaroo courts of HK while supplying an endless stream of arms to Israel"

The sheer athletic cowardice of San Jose State women's vball opponents is remarkable. These individuals are either crying the wettest possible crocodile tears, or they simply do not belong in high performance sport. Just compare them to the comments of P4 players.

A story on the precarity of working as a footballer in the lower leagues

“I wasn’t just building a life,” he says forcefully. “I’ve got a life. I was going to move my whole life for Crawley. I was willing to take that risk. It just crumbled right in front of me.
“I felt ashamed, I felt embarrassed. Although it wasn’t the case, I felt I’d failed.”

Muhammadu Faal thought he had his dream move to League One Crawley.

On signing, it became a nightmare - and showed just how callous and disposable football can be.

This is gonna do precisely nothing on national security. It’s ethnic cleansing and any China specialist trying to defend this shit is wrong
“Undocumented immigrants from China who are deemed to be of military age will be among the first groups targeted for deportation by the incoming Trump administration, sources close to the campaign previously told NBC News, citing the potential risk to national security.”
As sources say Trump could deport undocumented Chinese first, Asian American groups rush to prep

A thoughtful decision to memorialize Dylan Powley through renaming the Cavalry FC supporter group player of the year award after him. Powley who passed too soon was a pioneer of Canadian football and a fervent proponent of better working conditions for footballers through @pfacan.ca #canpl
In June, news came out that Dylon Powley passed away in a tragic accident. From this point forth, and with the blessing of his family, the Foot Soldiers player of the year award will be known as the Dylon Powley Memorial Trophy.

Lots of really gross racist comments on this post.

One of the many points that people are missing is that this is not just going to affect undocumented Chinese nationals. All Asian Americans are going to be affected, due to mistakes in enforcement and vigilante violence.
