What a shitshow
Wow. "Months after law firms made deals with President Trump to ward off punitive executive orders, the ethics committee of the District of Columbia Bar is warning that such arrangements may require firms to drop or obtain waivers from all clients who have interests at odds with the government."

The cowardice of Big Law extends beyond the handful of firms that have become Trump’s collaborators. Many more are simply hiding and hoping not to be noticed.
We have reached the point where the *American Bar Association* cannot find attorneys willing to represent them in litigation against the Trump administration.

True to form, when Paul Weiss partner Kannon Shanmugam faced a little challenge, did he fight back? Did he stick up for his firm? Did he advocate on his own behalf?

Lol. Of course not! He tried to hide.

The firms that settled with Trump instead of fighting for their constitutional rights, will always sell out their clients to Trump. Who in their right mind would hire a law firm to defend them against the govt or Trumps policies, knowing the firm has already bent a knee to him and kissed his ass.
For law firms that appeased Trump, the consequences go from bad to worse
The firms that struck deals with the White House are losing clients, partners, associates and credibility within the industry.

Adam Serwer nails it here.

“These cascading acts of cowardice from the people best positioned to resist Trump’s authoritarian power grabs have made Trump seem exponentially more powerful than he actually is”
Kimmel’s defiant return highlights one of the most disturbing dynamics of Trump II, that so many people in positions of leadership are chickenshit frauds who would rather fold in advance than put up anything resembling a fight www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
