Willwerathia, a segmented arthropod, lays a cluster of small, white eggs in the cracked, lobsterlike shell of Jaekelopterus, a scorpion-like creature with large eyes. A large eyeball of a giant squid looks on at a variety of neon yellow-and-blue sea creatures glowing in the deep sea. Realistic-styled Pokemon - Ferrothorn, Volcarona, Jellicent, Haxorus, Excadrill and Mienshao. A variety of alien-like beings gather round at a table to discuss a meeting. One of them is in a metal can, another is wearing a purple robe, another looks like four balls strung together, another is large and wearing some red garment, and the fifth is tall and in a protective suit.

A dodo looks down upon a growing Dutch settlement on the coast of Mauritius. Two ships sail towards the island, and already there are stone structures and wooden buildings being constructed, mostly by enslaved people. There are also pigs in the mix. Trees are being felled.

California watersheds. I really like how rivers can connect different locations and ecosystems, so this is both a tribute to watersheds themselves as well as California biodiversity. This was another experiment in a new style.

A river cuts from north to south. It starts in a rocky upland area with redwoods and bears, moves downwards to one of the trademark yellow hills with oaks, then past a forest and down to a wetland with a variety of waterbirds.

I made this some three years ago? and it's still one of my proudest works. Inspired by @joschuaknuppe.bsky.social's #MonkeyCruise, it was intended to depict Anachlysictis and Cebupithecia in the vein of Le Lion de Florence (depicted to the right).

Loxolophus and Baculites. Comparatively large (raccoon sized) mammals emerged some 300k years after the K-Pg extinction, and ammonites fully died out some 500k years, so for a brief window of time they may have met.

mammals were getting big only 300k years after the asteroid, and ammonites died off fully around 500k years later. the last ammonite probably could have met one of the Cenozoic New Gens, nature is crazy
