Yeah that's understandable, but still it's worth a try to reach out. I contacted a pretty big jp artist who's made stuff for very well known music games (and also stuff for nintendo!) and they were happy to work with me, despite me being just some random guy.

Honestly, just shoot them an email! They won't bite. Worst that happens is that they're busy and don't respond/can't take on more work.
