Scenes from a massive and abandoned grain silo complex in Buffalo, New York. This was once the grain capital of the world, and now these massive concrete structures stand silent, looming and slowly decaying.

Their buildings were an engineer’s worst nightmare… and somehow a beautifully dreamed challenge
RIP Frank Ghery. Your buildings were stupid but in a fun way.

The Iron Bridge, 1781.

I’d love to shoot more large format and really learn how to get the most out of it.

The Forth Bridge (1890) is so over-engineered that it could survive an apocalypse. This pic is an excellent proof. Built after the Tay Bridge disaster, Baker& Fowler said "never again" and made it much stronger than needed.

Excessive? Maybe.
Legendary? Absolutely.

Many art critics disliked @jackvettriano.bsky.social They found his paintings cheesy, outdated or sexist. He was not praised by the "experts", but he was different: he was popular, regular ordinary people loved and devoured his art.

Ponte Vecchio in Florence has housed shops for centuries, including butchers. In the 16th century, the Medici replaced them with jewelers to make things more glamurous.
