Just had a crazy idea: Ride the TX MS150 in April, but this year, make it a #bikepacking trip and carry my gear. Then, spend the next 2 days riding back home to Austin (~120 miles, ~30% gravel).

On my trip to Big Bend earlier this week, I did a really good job of not thinking about the world, economy, politics, etc. But at one point, while marveling at the Santa Elena Canyon, it occurred to me that, in geological terms, the Earth will forget about all this in about an instant.

On Saturday, I passed the smallest Buc-ees in Texas. The selection of snacks was disappointing, as were the usually clean, plentiful restrooms and array of fueling stations.
