“I am here to ensure that DEI never returns to the University of Florida,” Ono said Tuesday.

This dude really said “segregation forever” but it still wasn’t enough for Rufo and his band of merry racists bent on destroying higher education.
Florida Board Rejects Ono for UF Job
The Florida Board of Governors decided against confirming Santa Ono as president of the University of Florida in a contentious vote focused on diversity, equity and inclusion.

one, a human life is not a "distraction."
two, would be nice to have an opposition party whose stance on these things was "be it for one person or an entire community, we are going to fight. every fight with this government is a fight worth picking. we won't give a centimeter to these ghouls."
Gavin Newsom calls Kilmer Abrego Garcia a “distraction” @washingtonpost.com

What an absolute disgrace he has become.

Beyond repulsive and shameful.

JD Vance claims the Maryland father the Trump administration mistakenly deported to a slave prison in El Salvador wasn't "father of the year" bc he had "traffic violations," and says "we do not ask permission from far left Democrats before we deport illegal immigrants."

(He's talking about judges)

The Trump admin is full of segregationists, and I wish (apparently pointlessly) that influential organizations that were *supposedly leaders* in creating integrated spaces would show some backbone.

I’m feeling for the facutly and students this targets. You all deserve better.
NEW: The University of Michigan will end its diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives campus wide, the president said in an email
New story from me: Imani* was in class when she discovered a scholarship program she relied on had been shut down.

“I don’t come from wealth ... Ending the program puts a burden on individuals who don't have it like most of the wealthy people here at the University of Michigan"

one of the things that is so disturbing about all of this is that trans youth *have* to go to school. it is compulsory for them to walk into institutions that are now being explicitly told not to recognize, protect, and care for who they are.

Yeah so the Constitution isn’t really in effect right now
Opinion | There Is No Going Back
The president’s opponents, whoever they are, cannot expect a return to the Constitution as it was.
