I've never been one for visual mediums. Played music, took up acting but couldn't figure out on-camera performance, am having a lot more fun and success in voice acting. But it is always good to push that comfort zone, so here's my first ever painting on canvas. Many happy accidents occurred.

It is so sad to hear of Val Kilmer's passing. But also it is so like him to die on April Fool's Day. Rest in peace.
I feel like Halloween and April Fools Day have similar vibes. When designing a Haunt or a prank, you hope to deceive the audience enough to elicit an emotion without hurting them. And as the audience, the experience is better if you allow yourself to be just gullible enough for it to work.

Enjoying a day off as I prepare for a minor surgery tomorrow. Looking forward to doing a lot of work on my new VO project while I'm recovering! Very thankful for the remote opportunities I've had recently.

It's funny how pleasantly intoxicating it can feel to spend time surrounded by creatives. A week at #GDC and I spent the first night home drafting ideas for a game. I am motivated to read more, to make more, and to act *even* more, but at the same time I am returned to "the grind." Alas.

GDC Monday had me up at 7 and returning to the hotel at midnight. Definitely meeting some interesting people, having lots of fun, and taking every opportunity to promote two things: J West is giving a talk on experimental games Friday at 2pm, and there is a crab fight in the park Wednesday at noon!

GDC log: Day of the Devs was WILD. Live music, full bar, game demos everywhere. Met some folks, talked a lot, and now am ridiculously tired.
