I've been doing video game VO since 2003. In my 20+ years, only ONE game has ever paid "royalties/residuals/bonus payments."
That game?
Date Everything.
And that's ONLY because it's a game produced by professional voice actors who purposefully created a special contract for the game w/ SAG-AFTRA.

So, this is actually making a solid, NON-AAA GAMES argument for an increase in prices for games:
AAA games can sell at $60 despite their insane budgets because they're often highly exploitative of both gamers and developers.
And these manners of exploitation arose partly due to price stagnation.

But you know what else sucks? Job precarity, stagnant wages, and being laid off if one game doesnt do well. Better margins mitigate all of those remarkably.
