Agreed. But I get nervous working w/ skewed means, bc taking the yrs u listed above, & subtracting more +PDO niños, u can see -PDO group skews cooler EPAC, which doesn’t fit current ENSO. If diffs in NPAC high R related to Eq Pacific instead of PDO, projecting from PDO could yield incorrect result.

This is one of the more impressive +IOD signatures I can recall in terms of U850. All components in the system state working in unison to evacuate heat/mass from MC/IPWP domain.
