The Democratic leadership in the Senate clearly doesn't understand the concept of an opposition party. Rather than fighting to rein in the existential threat posed by this administration, they willingly gave away what leverage they had, in return for nothing! It's time for a leadership overhaul.

The responsibility for the current debt ceiling crisis lies squarely with Republicans, and Democrats should absolutely not bail them out. Voters (albeit a small majority of them) have placed the dysfunctional GOP in control; maybe it's time for the country to reap what it has sown.
