When you have them down, you finish them. One to the…
At this point, it’s utterly bonkers that any Democrat would trust any Republican to negotiate in good faith.

Not exactly the best analogy but it would seem the Democrats put their finger in the dike but does anyone know now the name of the kid that did that? I sure don’t know his party.
Hell who let the dogs out last time?
Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Toe the line.
This shutdown is the fault of #Impeach47 & MAGA & Project 2025.
In other words Cruelty, Chaos & Corruption
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
November 10, 2025 at 3:04 AM
Stick to your guns!
i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

So Unintended consequences are 90% of the results.
10% less pay for hourly flight attendants and perhaps pilots, increased costs because they end up at a location they aren’t planning on staying, difficult commutes to caver a flight @carlquintanilla.bsky.social
Grateful for this Delta flight attendant for providing some clarity on the upcoming changes to flights during the holidays.

Reopen government, swear in Adelita Grivala, release the Epstein Files, restore healthcare subsidies, and fund SNAP.

What an ignorant Jane Curtin.
Kristi Noem ordered ICE to purchase ten Spirit Airlines jets for deportations. Two problems: Spirit doesn’t own the planes, and they don’t have engines. Has there ever been a more incompetent administration?

@rbreich.bsky.social actually it runs counter to nature. Thermodynamics would predict a “leveling” effect due to the imbalance of forces. Over time the driving forces will push things back to balance but ask the French & Russian ruling class if it was a smooth transition?
Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Continuing the point, it will start to suck for those folks that are just a little better off (LBO) than “regular folks” soon because LBOs need a well functioning economy to stay a LBO. Trickle up does work. Ask the French about how to cut a cake when you’re hungry. 😱
The economy’s more than just weak for regular folks. It’s brutal. But if you’re a billionaire or a ballroom contractor, it’s the best of times.

Neither should conservative. Conservatives save money, manage debt, raise an army, equip it and with liberals hold it in check. Conservatives also waste tea. Both bleed and both should love their country enough to stand up to a tyrant and bully. We need both and they both need to agree on a path.
