Final edit, 80k words. I just found a minor plot hole, but I can't figure out a workaround. All I have to do is change one sentence—there's many directions I could take, but they all feel like cop-outs.

My first book is nearly finalized at almost 80k words. My partner said that my first draft is preschool compared to the finished product, and I can't put into words how that makes me feel.

Spent some time refining earlier chapters of my first draft, added a chapter for pacing, and expanded on existing chapters for world building. There's so much to be done, I love every moment of it.

The direction of my story changed, now there's an entire chapter that serves no purpose. It could be deleted in its entirety and nothing would change. Writing is a pain sometimes.
