Purim is this week! Here is a thread of things!

Let's talk about archetypes:

Vashti and Esther.
Lilith and Eve.

Whose agendas do these narratives serve, and how can we claim power from all of them???

Anyone else only want to watch the BBC North and South when you don’t feel well? Or is it just a me thing?

Since I’m still getting used to this app, let’s talk what “radicalized” me—aka made me an empathetic person? Books.
1. A rich orphan who does everything she can to make her much less-fortunate friend’s life easier and ultimately convinces Uncle Garth to adopt said friend plus her sisters.

Words to feed your Self for the new year.
“I am whole.
I am learning.
I am letting go.
I am free.
I am talented and courageous.
I am protecting my joy.
I am brave.
I am healing.
I am loving myself. Unapologetically.”

I think the power of a book like A CHRISTMAS CAROL is that Scrooge *realizes.*

Most Scrooges won't realize. It's a pipe dream. They can only receive consequences, after they will continue to blame everyone else until they die.

It's such wish fulfillment, that they could *realize.*

PREACH!!
Imma need some of you to think about thriving out of spite. I had big plans for 2025 and I’m definitely not gonna pre-derail them for likes of Elin and Tromp. I’m getting more involved. Loving harder. Writing hornier. Having more fun. I’m gonna be so kind to my neighbors, bitch.

There's a bevy of posts circulating of famous sculptures with the question of WHY DON'T WE SEE THIS KIND OF TALENT ANYMORE and the answer is you don't support the arts, assholes. Those artists had patrons. They could work all day to perfect their craft without worrying about food and housing.

Things I’ve learned about being married: sometimes little things can make a big difference to overall harmony. Like “accidentally” waking your spouse up so he can empty his tiny bladder before you settle in for a bath in your 1 bed/1 bath apartment.

The main thing that is happening here is that RWA no longer has staff, and that means, basically no oversight. Everything is happening on autopilot. Nobody really looked and said “oh shit, should we promote this chapter workshop the way we do others?”
RWA's FB page is promoting a workshop on using AI to write a romance novel. I'm astounded at this nonsense. There is never a low that RWA won't sink to. #romancelandia

Reminder to all my girlies, but especially those raised in the faux politeness of the South: being direct is not rude. It’s not taking a tone. It’s clear, accurate communications without fake pretenses.

What the actual fuck?

Everyone deserves access to romance that suits their needs with a heat level they’re comfortable with.

EVERYONE DESERVES ROMANCE.

Just because you like high-heat doesn’t mean everyone is comfortable with that. Read what you want and leave everyone else alone.
Seeing people say closed-door/fade-to-black romance should be outlawed, even as a joke, is so fucking upsetting, I'm going to be real with you. You're not quirky or funny for thinking everyone shouldn't have access to their preferred comfort level of sexual content.
