If the NHL “didn’t like” incidents like game 3 between the Habs and Caps, the incentive in the playoffs would not be to cheat as much as possible because the rulebook is fake.

This. But I’ve been resigning myself to the idea that maybe people prefer the gladiator spectacle of the playoffs and the NHL might not b 4 me anymore.
Not to mention the toll it takes on players’ health. The trip to the finals marked the end of Weber and Price’s careers. Landeskog missed 3 years.
